MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE

BRACKLESHAM PARK COMMITTEE

27 MAY 2010 IN THE LECTURE ROOM, FIRE STATION,

OAKFIELD ROAD, EAST WITTERING

10.8. Chairman

Ref. Minute 10.1 Cllr. Cedric Munday took the Chair for the meeting.


10.9 Minutes of the last meeting.

The minutes of the meeting held on 12 January 2010 were confirmed as a correct record and signed by the Chairman.


10.10 Byelaws.


10.10.1 Proposed by Cllr. O’Sullivan, seconded by Cllr. Gunning the Committee agreed to prohibit the flying of model aircraft.


10.10.2 Closing the park or the play areas after dusk was discussed. The Clerk reported that the Secretary of State department advised that this would not be an item for the Byelaws as any antisocial behavour would be a Police matter.


10.10.3 Proposed by Cllr. O’Sullivan, seconded by Cllr. Gunning the Committee agreed to submit the Byelaws for approval by the Secretary of State.



10.11 The Committee were asked by the Parish Council to re-consider the name of the Centre as it has received several complaints from residents that they did not like the name ‘Brackle’ but were happy with the name ‘Barn’. In consultation with the BBCA members present, on a proposal by Cllr. Gunning, seconded by Cllr. O’Sullivan the Committee agreed to submit the name Bracklesham Barn to the Council for approval.


10.12. The Committee had received a draft Terms of Reference in respect of the Management Committee. It felt that there were several matters that needed further discussion in particular the timings. It agreed that this Committee should be in place before the building is finished.


10.13 In conjunction with the BBCA members present, on a proposal by Cllr. Munday, seconded by Cllr. O’Sullivan the Committee agreed the following floor coverings:




Carpeting:

Blue mat between the two doors at the entrance

Ocean Green tiles in the foyer

Rose tiles in the Committee Room.


Pewter grey Altro in the changing rooms (the shower floor tile has already been chosen – creamy colour)

Mushroom Altro in the other toilets and the kitchen


Walls and units to be chosen at a later date.


10.14. Proposed by Cllr. O’Sullivan, seconded by Cllr. Munday the Committee agreed the kitchen layout provided by the Architect and Environmental Health Officer but agreed that if the wash hand basin can be moved this can be done between the Architect and EHO if no substantial change to the layout takes place.


10.15 Police Room Lease.


Proposed by Cllr. Gunning, seconded by Cllr. O’Sullivan the Committee agreed to return the draft lease to its Solicitors asking for clarification over public liaibility and the responsibilities of the lessee should they want to move out. Pending a satisfactory response the draft lease will then be forwarded to CDC for approval.


10.16. Information Day on 15 September 2010.


The Committee and BBCA agreed that Joyce Griffith and Christine Moore meet initially to make initial arrangements and bring their conclusions back to the BBCA and Bracklesham Park Committee.


10.17. Urgent matters that the Chairman wishes to bring to the attention of the Committee. None.


10.18 The BBCA reported it had 80 questionnaires returned with 20 volunteering to help out if necessary. The results are still being collated and will be given to us when they are completed. Highest request is for some form of keep fit. Film shows were also very popular.
