Lead theft in and around Wittering
Report from Sussex Police:
At approximately 11pm last night we received a report of a male on a porch roof of a property in West Street, Selsey.
Police attended the location and found a quantity of lead on the floor that had been stripped from the roof. The suspect had already made off.
The only description of the male was that he was wearing a hoody.
Can you help?
PC Rawlinson states, “We are appealing for anybody who saw anything or anybody suspicious around the town, any vehicle parked out of place or making off from the area of West Street at speed at around 11.05pm to make contact and help us with our investigation.”
We ask that you check your roof, be aware of the lead you have and let us know if there is any missing. Please ensure that you look into securing your property and do what you can to make your home less appealing to thieves.
