Successful events at Bracklesham Barn
On Sunday 11 December 2011, Bracklesham Barn was buzzing with Christmas Activities to raise funds towards the running of this valuable community venue.
First came Santa’s Grotto!
Thanks to some nifty work by Steve Morley from Morley Marquees, one of the large cupboards off the main hall was transformed into a winter snowscape where Father Christmas could receive his visitors. Volunteers then decorated the Grotto with all manner of fake icicles, snow and fairy lights -as well as our amazing snow-white reindeer – to complete a magical place full of wonder.
Father Christmas then arrived, ably accompanied by two sprightly elves and dished out presents to the eager children who excitedly queued up to see him.
Our deepest thanks and appreciation go to Steve, Stephen, Maddy and Holly for their valuable contribution to this Christmas Community event.
Then came the Festive Songs!
Later on in the afternoon, the community gathered again for an evening of festive songs.
The Penny Black Choir – a local, a capella, community choir delighted the audience with some beautiful wintry numbers. Everyone agreed that they gave a first class performance. To see them in action follow this link>>>
After a brief interval for mulled wine, mince pie and a raffle, everyone joined together for a sing-along of Christmas Favourites led by Sylvia Main and accompanied by Bob Priddy. The rendition of the ‘Twelve Days of Christmas’ will be a talking point for many a long year.
Our thanks go out to the Penny Black Choir for singing so beautifully; to the volunteers who organised everything; to Sylvia and Bob for their musical accompaniment and most of all to the locals who turned out to support this fabulous fundraising event.
