Objection: The noise, odours and late night opening hours associated with a tandoori takeaway could have a detrimental impact to the enjoyment of the residential properties surrounding the premises. Despite sophisticated venting and filtration systems, there will be inevitable odours adversely affecting nearby businesses. In addition outside smoking facilities used by staff and customers throughout the day and evening could create further noise and disturbance to residents.

The Committee was very disappointed with the extremely low level of response to this consultation and is concerned that these results will not provide a correct reflection of the views of the general public. The Local Development Framework – Core Strategy Public Consultation. The consultation document can be found on the Chichester District Council’s website www.chichester.gov.uk. The Committee voiced its concern that the consultation’s online questionnaire is very technical and therefore may be difficult for the general public to interpret which in turn may result in the conclusions drawn from the consultation not being an accurate reflection of the public’s views. The public are encouraged to complete this questionnaire as this is the first in a set of documents that will shape future development in the District up to 2028.
